  • Nutrition – Preparing and serving meals or snacks, cleaning up afterward, and assisting with meal planning. Attendants may also help participants follow special dietary requirements and encourage adherence to prescribed nutrition plans.
  • General Housekeeping – Light cleaning, laundry, and other tasks that help maintain a clean, safe, and healthy environment. Housekeeping is limited to spaces directly used by the participant, such as their bedroom and bathroom.

Additional Support Includes:

  • Helping with shopping, essential errands, and accompanying the participant to medical appointments. (Attendants are not permitted to provide transportation.)
  • Assisting with communication needs, which may involve placing the phone within reach, helping with phone use, and providing reminders or support for daily routines and orientation.
  • Medication reminders – Notifying the participant when it’s time to take prescribed medication based on instructions from a physician or those labeled on the container.
  • Attendants are not responsible for administering medication.
  • They may, however, hand over pre-dispensed medications or containers prepared in advance.
